Since we are on the topic of hands (formerly what to hold in them), let’s talk about wedding gloves for a moment.
Nothing completes your look or adds a flare of classic style like a lovely pair of gloves. While sublet, gloves are highly significant detail that can add a lot of character to the look of your wedding photography, and also make you feel like the classy, gorgeous woman that you are!
However, We have noticed a lack of information about wedding gloves in the industry. Searching many wedding vendor sites for “accessories” has left us gloveless. Many fabulous designers include gloves in their runway, but don’t list them available for sale on their websites. Retail chains have them for sale, but almost seem a last minute purchase item. Most of the gloves that can be found are cheap and terrible. With American fashion having gone a bit by the wayside, we are worried that these glamorous little guys are not getting the attention they deserve. Are wedding gloves a thing of the past? We hope not!
What is the solution to this wedding accessory dilemma? Buy vintage!! There are a plethora of gloves for sale on eBay, and we know that your girlfriends will love spending the day antiquing looking for that perfect pair of gloves!! Vintage fashion is timeless and beautiful, and will make you stand out on your big day! Think Grace Kelly, think Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, think Mad Men … (?).

Okay, you get the idea. Beautiful gloves can be found in a variety of lengths, styles, colors, materials, what have you. And they don’t have to be expensive. In fact, all of the examples above are listed at less than $60, and often gloves can be found at antiques stores for under $20. Adding gloves is a simple, inexpensive way to add big time style to your wedding day look, without having a big impact on your budget, and will stand out in your wedding photography.
After over a decade of shooting professional wedding photography, we can tell you that the details do matter. Of course, you will want to show off the bling that your husband-to-be has slaved over picking out (perhaps with a little bit of help?), however, in addition to adding style, gloves are also a good idea to keep your lovely hands warm, unless you want to be the “something blue” in your wedding apparel! You can also choose fingerless gloves, if that’s your desire. Whatever you decide, you will be glad you took the time to add a pair of vintage wedding gloves to your bridal ensemble.
